1. Acupuncture basics

Learn the fundamentals of acupuncture and how it supports your health.

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a traditional practice using very fine, sterile needles at specific points to support the body’s natural healing response.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people feel little to no discomfort. The needles are hair-thin and sterile, and sensations vary from light pressure or warmth to a brief tingling. We check in throughout your visit and adjust the treatment to your comfort level.

How many sessions will I need?

Your plan depends on your goals, health history, and how your body responds over time. After your assessment, we’ll explain a practical recommendation and revisit it as your needs change. There is never a one-size-fits-all schedule.

2. First visit and preparation

Everything you need to know to feel prepared for your first appointment.

What happens during my first visit?

Your first visit includes a consultation, assessment, treatment, and a clear care plan.

How early should I arrive?

Please arrive 10 minutes early for check-in and paperwork.

What should I wear?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that gives easy access to your arms and lower legs. If an area is difficult to access, we use professional draping and discuss options before beginning treatment.

3. Comfort and safety

Your comfort and safety guide every part of care—from sterile, single-use supplies and clear consent to careful positioning, frequent comfort checks, and practical aftercare guidance.

Are the needles sterile?

Yes. We use sterile, single-use needles and dispose of them immediately after treatment.

Will I feel sore after treatment?

Some people notice mild, temporary tenderness. Most feel calm and relaxed.
